FBS Teams Not Scheduled to Face FCS Opponent(s)

The following FBS programs don’t have an FCS team on their current or future schedules:

Updated: 6/29/2025

Michigan: Last played an FCS team back in 2010 (UMass before they moved up to the FBS), but they are playing at least one MAC team each year through 2030.

Notre Dame: Before hosting Tennessee State in 2023, a 59-3 Notre Dame win, the Irish hadn’t played a smaller college foe since 1941.

Texas: The Longhorns have played an FCS team once in the last 32 years, the 56-3 win against Sam Houston State in 2006.

USC: The Trojans canceled their contract with UC-Davis last year to keep alive their streak of not playing a “non-major” team in the last 72 years. They are playing FBS newcomer Missouri State on 8/30/25.

Tulane: A new team added to the list, as the Green Wave have no FCS teams on their current and future schedules after playing SE Louisiana last year.

Notes: Sam Houston was on this list last year, but they scheduled a game against Nicholls in 2026. Houston also fell off the list, as they have scheduled FCS teams for the next three years.
